Hearing Aids

Each pair of ears is unique to the person they belong to. And while standard hearing aids are made to fit “off the shelf”, they may still be uncomfortable for the wearer. Although standard over-the-counter hearing aids can be customized in terms of fitting and programming, the device itself may not be designed for a patient’s particular needs.

At the VEI Hearing Center, we offer modern, customizable hearing aids. This way you’ll be confident and comfortable in the way you choose to be.

When you visit the Hearing Center, you’ll meet with our audiologist, Dr. Crystal Amantea, will guide you in selecting the best hearing aids for your hearing loss and your lifestyle.

Our state-of-the-art hearing aids come with assistive capabilities such as:

  • Stylish and discreet hearing aid options

CIC Hearing Aids

CIC Stands for Completely-In-Canal. These are generally recommended for mild to moderately severe hearing loss. They are similar to the IIC hearing aid. However, the CIC hearing aids are not placed as deeply into the ear canal as the IIC hearing aids are. You can still be assured that only a tiny portion, the removal handle, will be visible outside of the ear canal.

ITC Hearing Aids

ITC stands for In-The-Canal. These hearing aids fit snugly in your ear canal. A small portion of them will still be visible in the outer ear. They are generally recommended for mild to mildly severe hearing loss. They are medium sized, which allows for more immediate control with the use of additional features. Additions such as directional microphones and volume wheels can be placed on the body of the hearing aid. This style is slightly larger than the IIC and CIC styles.

Half Shell Hearing Aids

Half Shell hearing aids take up the lower half of the outer ear bowl. They are generally recommended for mild to severe hearing loss. These are not as aesthetically pleasing as the hearing aids that sit directly in the canal. However, they include more controls and provide a longer battery life. Features such as directional microphones and volume wheels can be added to allow you more control over your hearing.

Full Shell Hearing Aids

Full Shell hearing aids take up the entire bowl of the outer ear. They are generally recommended for mild to severe hearing loss. These are the largest hearing aids we offer. They are visible externally, but offer the most features. A larger battery for longer battery life is also included.

We also offer power mold products. If you would like to inquire about a custom hearing instrument please call us at 804.287.4200, or send a message from our contact page.
